On the Bluetooth Special Interest Group association’s site has appeared the information on the certification of its new mobile phone Benq E55, which, judging from the available information and photographs, is made in the clamshell form-factor, and also supports the third generation networks (WCDMA 2100) in addition to the three GSM bands (900/1800/1900 MHz). This mobile phone supports such data transfer standards on the mobile networks as GPRS and EDGE, and some of the Bluetooth profiles are these: Headset, Hands-Free 1.5, FTP, AVCTP, AVRCP, Dial-Up, Object Push, GAVDP, AVDTP, A2DP. Some other information on Benq E55, unfortunately, is not available - including the lead time of its appearance.  

  U.S. cellular operator AT&T is preparing to begin selling smartphone SMT5700, more than a year ago received the approval of the Federal Communications Commission in the U.S. (FCC). Initially, this device runs under Windows Mobile 5, but the resource Boy Genius Report suggested that the company has updated the smartphone operating system to version 6 or 6.1. Regarding the rest of the phone functionality, it provides 2 MP camera, memory card slot for microSD, EDGE support and QWERTY-keyboard.  

  One of China's resources has published a new mobile phone images from Philips - Xenium X800. This is certainly another "killer of iPhone", the devices are very similar, even for appearance and design start-screen.   The mobile phone Motorola A1600 MING 2 has passed the certification of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). We already have mentioned this phone on the previous news: it is equipped with a touch screen and a protective transparent flip cover, no keys. The technical specs registered by the FCC are a 3.2 MP digital camera and EDGE support for all four GSM frequencies, however, no Wi-Fi is mentioned even if the rumors was saying that the module should be present on Ming 2. Motorola A1600, exactly like his predecessor, works on Linux. We must remind that the first phone from the Ming series, Motorola A1200, was popular in Asia, but it does not reached a worldwide distribution. Most probable, the new MING will just repeat the same experience, on the user guide is wrote Asia/EMEA.  

  New photos of the Sony Ericsson BeiBei (Walkman-smartphone) have recently appeared on the web. This is a middle class mobile phone. However, it is equipped with touch screen, Wi-Fi and large internal memory. The handset will be presented on May and will be available on the market somewhere near fall. As OS was chosen UIQ 3.3.The red detail on the image – is an original design of stylus.       

  The LG company has announced the launching of VX9100 (enV2) in USA under the Verizon operator. This model is quite rare in what concerning the form factor: horizontal clamshell with two keyboards (digital and QWERTY) and two displays. The external screen is not big, only for the basic information, while the internal one is a large colorful QVGA display. Also we must mention from the LG VX9100’s technical specs the following: 2 MP digital camera, 8 Gb internal memory and support for Bluetooth interface. The height of the device is 16.5mm. The phone is  available in two colors: black and red.

  Accordingly to Boy Genius Report, the RIM Company will launch on the market a budget version of the BlackBerry 9000 smartphone. The rumors about the news are already well known on the World Wide Web.Looking at the picture, this is a traditional design for RIM, bar form factor and QWERTY keyboard with horizontal screen. (some sources are guessing that this will be the first device of the company with a touch screen). The budget version of BlackBerry 9000 under the code name Niagara, accordingly to Boy Genius Report, will not support the third generation networks and will have a slightly modified design.   Our Chinese colleagues have hardly obtained the photos of the new iPhone that supports the third generation network (3G). On the photos we can see that the iPhone body has turned white and also has acquired an additional digital camera for video-calls, it was integrated on the front panel.What other surprises has Apple prepared, we don’t know yet. 

  The British mobile phone operator Vodafone has made a distributor agreement with Apple that gives it the right to sell iPhone smartphones in 10 countries, with a total of 1.4 mlrd people, announced on 6th May Bloomberg.Accordingly to the signed contract, Vodafone can sell the goods in Australia, India, South Africa, Italy, Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Portugal, New Zealand and Turkey. Nowadays, it is possible to buy legally a mobile phone in USA, UK, France, Germany, Austria and Ireland.Some time ago Vodafone was struggling to obtain this contract for UK too, but it was assigned to O2.In Germany, Vodafone obtained a temporarily legal decision to control the iPhone sales through T-mobile without a contract. In the beginning of December 2007, the Legal Court has maintained its decision favorable to T-mobile, as an exclusive distributor.  

  Nokia together with the South African Ministry of Education and the Mindset Network ONG has launched a new project under the name M4Girls. “This pilot project uses the Nokia 6300 mobile phone with preinstalled educational materials to help 10 girl students of two schools in the study of mathematics," – it was said in the press release. This program is aimed to help to understand the basic knowledge of the primary school objects (for example mathematics) the students from the historically poor regions of South Africa. The main aim of the project is those girls that are left behind and it must help them to reach the educational level of the others in class.  

At his 10th anniversary, the Vertu company has presented a new series of elite phones called Constellation Rococo.In its name, the word Rococo is not used just like that, without a reason. All the phones are realized in the French art style from the XVIIIth century.The rear cover of the phones is covered with red or black natural leather decorated with colorful floral ornament. The most expensive of this series, besides all mentioned, it is also decorated with sapphires. The new phones from the Vertu Constellation Rococo range will be available for sale in the 2008 summer.
