There is an information according to which Sony Ericsson can adapt the new version of Symbian for P1 and W960. Flagship smartphones of music and business classes will receive a new UIQ 3.3, which is based on the Symbian 9.3. This will enable them to become the first devices on the market that support this version of the OS. The hardware platform allows realize this maneuver, but such practice in the world of Symbian devices we see rarely. Perhaps, this can be advantageous for Sony Ericsson because this increases the interest to the "old" devices, while the company  is developing new software and hardware platform and related devices. The cell phones on Symbian 9.5 and OMAP3 sould be presented in May-June.  

  Several forums published the information on the new series of cell phones of BenQ. The published information is slides allegedly distributed in Taiwan. They disclose the representatives of E, M, T and S series. The first two are based on the same platform as Siemens SXG75, ie, Qualcomm. The device of T series will be based on the TI platform used in BenQ S88. The cell phone of  S series, a realization of  the BlackBox concept, dating October, 2006, will be based on a new platform. It is difficult to say now when will be the release date of these mobile phones.

  In the network appeared the information that Nokia 6650, announced at CeBIT 2008, is a smartphone, not a cell phone. In particular, the resource Intomobile affirms that the clamshell phone is working on Symbian S60 3.2. We don't know yet if it is a true.  

  LG prepares relatively inexpensive and functional cell phone with excellent design. LG KP320 belongs to the image class of phones. It works only in GSM networks and will appear in the market until summer. The exact price is still unknown.   LG is preparing a new stylish slider of Black Label series, to which belong such well-known models as LG Chocolate and LG Shine. LG KF750 is not yet announced, but the Dutch representative office of the company announced that it will be available in April. Dutch store proposes it for 434 EUR with the operator contract.   Nokia introduced another update of the popular Nokia 6300 phone. Nokia 6300i differs by support of VoIP and Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, wireless networks can be used only to make the calls. The access to the Internet through Wi-Fi in this device is not provided. It will appear in the second quarter and will cost 175 EUR without taxes and subsidies. The portfolio of Nokia has a similar model, Nokia 6301, which differs by support of UMA technology. The new gadget also supports VoIP, but can work also with any Wi-Fi network, not just with UMA.  

  The analytical company with a long name IMS Research Online Cellular Database, reflecting on the first quarter sales results in 2008, concluded that in 2008 the market of mobile phones will recess. The forecast of IMS Research Online Cellular Database is disappointing; the market is expected to decline by as much as 6%. The factors that caused this recession are more than enough, starting with the crisis in the United States and ending with flooding the European and Japanese markets with mobile phones. According to IMS Research Online Cellular Database due to the mortgage and financial crisis, many people in 2008 may experience a lack of cash to carry out the replacement of their old mobile phone or to buy a second one.

  MultiMedia Intelligence reports that in 2007 more than a billion music phones was supplied worldwide. These researchers are impressive compared to the figure of 300 million which reflects the total sales of all the Walkmans in the world for the same period. Thus, the phone has now become the most popular musical device. By 2011 more than half of the phones sold will be positioned as music cell phones. So, in a few years about a billion cell phones-Walkmans will be sold per year. MultiMedia Intelligence also found that mobile music market (including ringtones, ringbacktones and the acquired music) will be assessed in $6 billion by the end of this year.
