France Telecom has refused the plan of absorbing the TeliaSonera holding. The official version is that the parties could not agree about mutually advantageous conditions of the transaction. France Telecom offered to shareholders $42 billion cash, however the transaction has been rejected by both private shareholders and the Swedish government, which possesses 43,5 % of the holding actions. Therefore, after the announcement that France Telecom has the intention to buy TeliaSonera, its actions price has fallen in with 21 %. If the transaction would be made, in Europe would have appeared the largest operator of communications, serving 237 million of subscribers.   As the vice-president of Nokia, Kai Oistamo has declared at press conference in London, mobile phones based on a uniform Symbian mobile platform with a standardized interface will released, aproximately, in 2010. We shall remind, that the companies Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and NTT DOCOMO on the 10th anniversary day of Symbian have declared the creation of a noncommercial organization Symbian Foundation. The participants have planned to create a common platform with an uniform user interface based on S60, UIQ and MOAP. Kai Oistamo has informed that within two years the new Symbian-platform will be accessible under the open-source license. Also, as he said, the first S60-elements for the unified operational system will be ready in the beginning of 2009. The S60 3rd edition Platform and the Symbian Foundation releases will be reciprocaly compatible.  

  The operator of mobile communication T-Mobile, has announced today the sale release of a new mobile phone - Motorola ROKR E8. The musical mobile phone sales will begin on July, 7th, 2008, the cost of Motorola ROKR E8, under the condition of signing a contract with T-Mobile, will be 200 US dollars ($199.99 - if to be exact).  

  Company Motorola has informed on signing the contract with the Vietnamese operator of mobile communication Vinaphone (belonging to company Viet Nam Posts and Telecommunications (VNPT)) according to which, company Motorola will build a GSM network for the Vinaphone operator in 12 provinces of Vietnam. The sum of the contract is 28 million US dollars.  

  The well known source The Boy Genius Report has published preliminary information about the new phone, which is supposedly now being developed in the Motorola Company under the working title Alexander. So far, neither the image nor the full specifications of the device, but the source said that this will be a new flagship model of the Motorola range. It maybe that this will be the last flagship in the company's history, he is seen as "the last line of defense." It is reported that Motorola Alexander will receive a 5 Mp digital camera, maybe even 8 megapixel.   The Semcblog.wordpress.com blog, which usually is publishing accurate information in general, has reported new details on the Sony Ericsson phone, under the code-name of Linda. It is a Walkman-slider on the A2 platform, with a 3.2 Mp camera and, according to some rumours, the same display as the W760 has. We have to mention that in the Sony Ericsson’s lab, there is another clamshell Walkman - phone, under the code-name Alicia.
