  Samsung I7500 is a first mobile phone by LG that runs Android operating system. The device is equipped with a 5 MP autofocus camera with flash, supports GPS, WLAN, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.0, HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps, and microSD memory cards up to 32 GB. The operating system developed by Google implies the opportunity to use such services as Google Search, Google Maps ™ and Google Mail. The new mobile phone has a 3.2-inch capacitive AMOLED touchscreen and a 3.5 mm jack. There are 8 gigabytes of onboard memory and the capacity of the battery is 1500 mAh.  

  Nokia has announced the NFC compatible Nokia 6216 classic mobile phone on the third WIMA conference held in Monaco. Nokia 6216 is the first Nokia mobile device of this kind. Nokia 6216 classic will enable mobile network operators to provide their subscribers with NFC services that make file sharing much easier and not only that. Particularly, NFC technology makes mobile payments secure as a special application and NFC compatible SIM card that is bought separately act like a passport. For instance, you can store your credit card information on this SIM card and pay for products and services just by waving your phone in front of a contactless terminal. The mobile phone Nokia 6216 classic has a camera, stereo FM radio, and music player. The phone supports 3G and microSD memory cards up to 8 GB. Nokia 6216 classic is slated to start shipping in the third quarter of 2009 with an estimated retail price of EUR 150 before taxes and subsidies.  

  Today Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, Nokia President and CEO, outlined the company's future strategy and it appeared that it is completely changing its business model. While the company goes on competing with its rivals, it is also dealing with emerging companies from the Internet and PC industries, and to succeed in this environment, Nokia needs to develop extraordinary solutions for its customers. Nokia's future strategy consists in combining high-quality devices with unique services that is expected to increase customer retention. Particularly Nokia sees opportunities as consumers prefer less expensive devices, and the expansion of smartphone features into the mid-range product category is one of them.  

  At present, there are hundreds of positions in RIM and it is possible that they will be filled by former employees of Sony Ericsson, Nokia, and Motorola. Research in Motion is now looking for 600 new members such as engineers, software developers and salespeople to work upon BlackBerry devices. Despite the financial crisis, RIM has managed not to let the business down while some of the mobile phones manufacturers failed to do it. Moreover, Research in Motion is getting ready to shock its rivals.  

  There is a filing on the Bluetooth SIG website saying that Fiesta is an Android mobile phone that will be available in Asia, Europe, and North America. Naturally, it will feature Bluetooth, as you may have already guessed. Full specifications are not available at the moment.  

  Data transfer via Bluetooth 3.0 will be much faster. For instance, you will be able to transfer video files that are large in size. Bluetooth 3.0 will feature Enhanced Power Control (EPC) that will reduce the number of disconnects caused by putting a phone in a pocket or purse. We will learn more about new Bluetooth 3.0 on April 21.    

  LG GM200 is very simple in terms of design but it is quite a nice phone for lovers of music. GM200 has a built-in radio antenna, 2-megapixel camera with CMOS sensor, stereo speakers, supports RDS, and packs Dolby Mobile technology. LG GM200 features 30 MB of onboard memory, a slot for a microSD card, and a background noise sensor that adjusts the volume when it is necessary.  

  ABI Research’s latest forecasts show that 2010 will see flat growth rate of handset sales rather than further falling. Worldwide handset shipments are expected to fall by at least 8% in this year and ABI Research believes that the market will deliver flat growth in 2010. There will be neither significant growth nor decline in handset sales that would be a good outcome anyway. Stabilization will first come to North America and Europe, and later to the Asia-Pacific region.  

  LG has just announced the GD900 Crystal mobile phone with the transparent slide-out keypad and it has already got a competing device made by Lenovo. The difference between them is that Lenovo mobile phone has a transparent display unlike GD900. Judging by a 1.3-megapixel camera, we can say that is it a low-end phone but that doesn’t mean it will cost little money...
