Sharp has developed the LR0GC02 solar module that will contribute to the further development of solar-powered mobile devices. The module is 0.8 mm thick and is the thinnest of its kind in the whole world. The thickness of LR0GC02 is achieved by compact semiconductor packaging technology. The solar cells of the module are based on polycrystalline silicon and can deliver power up to 300 mW with the output voltage of 4.5 V and maximum load current of 67 mA. LR0GC02 has dimensions of 67.5 x 41.0 x 0.8 mm. Sample price (tax included) of LR0GC02 is 3,000 yen (equals approximately EUR 23). Mass production of the modules is expected to start on July 10, 2009. Sharp is planning to manufacture 100,000 units a month.

  Samsung I7500 is a first mobile phone by LG that runs Android operating system. The operating system developed by Google implies the opportunity to use such services as Google Search, Google Maps ™ and Google Mail. The new mobile phone has a 3.2-inch capacitive AMOLED touchscreen and a 3.5 mm jack. There are 8 gigabytes of onboard memory and the capacity of the battery is 1500 mAh.

  There is a filing on the Bluetooth SIG website saying that Fiesta is an Android mobile phone that will be available in Asia, Europe, and North America. Naturally, it will feature Bluetooth, as you may have already guessed. Full specifications are not available at the moment.  

  LG GM200 is very simple in terms of design but it is quite a nice phone for lovers of music. GM200 has a built-in radio antenna, 2-megapixel camera with CMOS sensor, stereo speakers, supports RDS, and packs Dolby Mobile technology. LG GM200 features 30 MB of onboard memory, a slot for a microSD card, and a background noise sensor that adjusts the volume when it is necessary.  

  LG has just announced the GD900 Crystal mobile phone with the transparent slide-out keypad and it has already got a competing device made by Lenovo. The difference between them is that Lenovo mobile phone has a transparent display unlike GD900. Judging by a 1.3-megapixel camera, we can say that is it a low-end phone but that doesn’t mean it will cost little money

  Not a single word about price and availability so far. All we know is that it is a blue touchscreen (320x240) music slider with the MP3 player and support of Bluetooth v2.0 and USB v2.0. Samsung M2510 also has a camera but it’s not the one worth appraising with its 0.3 MP and 640×480 px maximum photo size. Nevertheless, it could be useful from time to time.   

  A new Lenovo touchscreen slider named X1 has a 3.2-inch WQVGA display. The interface of the X1 bears the name Touch Dream – you cannot but recall new devices by HTC and Sony Ericsson. Lenovo X1 will be initially launched in China.

All mobile devices are designed for better sound quality, easier music player use, and more convenient navigation. As for price range, it is really wide and this fact cannot be underestimated because every phone will find its buyer and admirer immediately. Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is the most functional among the three devices: its has a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3.2-megapixel camera, 3.5 mm jack and supports 3G, Wi-Fi, and HSDPA up to 3.6 Mbps. The mobile phone is 16 GB microSD card compatible (an 8 GB card is included in the package), and has 100 MB of onboard memory. An estimated retail price will be 280 EUR, before subsidies and taxes. The Nokia 5330 XpressMusic mobile phone has fewer features in comparison with the previous 5730 XpressMusic. It also has a 3.2-megapixel camera, 3.5 mm jack, 3G and 16 GB microSD card support. However, 5330 XpressMusic doesn’t support Wi-Fi and has no QWERTY keyboard. The onboard memory is 70 MB and there’s a 2 GB memory card

  First of all, we’d like to point out that the manufacturer haven’t announced the retail price for the new devices but mentioned their market segment and shipping date: S5230 will be available in France in April and then in other European countries; S5600 will hit the European market a bit later, in May. Samsung S5600 is a relatively small and stylish mobile phone with minimalist yet attractive design. The TouchWiz user interface is worth being mentioned together with the Gesture Lock function that allows unlocking the phone and going to menus by drawing an English letter on the display with your finger. The menu-letter link is user-defined. Samsung S5600 has a 3-megapixel camera with Smile the Shot function, supports H.263, MPEG4, WMV file formats, and microSD memory cards up to 8 GB. The Samsung S5600 mobile phone has 80 MB of onboard memory. Samsung S5230 is a bit smaller than S5600 and has a larger display. This model also has the TouchWiz user interface, Gesture Lock, and a 3-megapixel camera but no 3G support if compared to S5600. Probably Nokia is going to unveil another music mobile phone or a service for music lovers – it’s anybody’s guess.
