  Qt Software today announced that Qtopia, a platform for creating user interfaces and applications for advanced consumer electronics based on Linux, has been renamed and launched as Qt Extended 4.4.Qt enables developers to build innovative services and applications once and then extend the innovation across all major desktop, mobile and other embedded platforms without rewriting the code. Qt Extended extends the Qt application development framework, bringing increased functionality to embedded Linux. Fly Mobile announced today the brand new SL 600 model. The phone has a modern design and features some good technical specifications. Although slim and light, at only 81 grams, the slider incorporates a 2MP camera, MicroSD slot, and also Bluetooth and EDGE to support connectivity. Entertainment is assured by a MP3 player, FM Radio and exclusively – the possibility to record or to schedule a record session of the FM music or live broadcastings. The phone is targeted to the UK market and will be available exclusively at Woolworths.

  The very important takeover of the Sothern market of USA seems to be moving smoothly to its complete phase. Recently Suncom’s shareholders approved the proposal to merge the Company with T-Mobile. This very important event and result is the next step for T-Mobile’s strategy to expand its network coverage and save on roaming costs, but not only. This deal will cost $2.4 Billion, including an $800 million debt. For this sum T Mobile will get some additional benefits. Among which, can be mentioned the total increase of network subscribers, adding another 1.1 million customers to the existent 27 million contracts.  The other advantage of the improvement of the network coverage is the number of potential users from 15 million to 260 million citizens. The purchase process is not finished yet. T-Mobile will need now the approval from the Federal Communications Commission. The completion of the merger is expected to occur in 2008.
