Swedish-Japanese company Sony Ericsson has published its financial results for the second quarter of 2009, it was the fourth consecutive quarter in which the company loses.
In the second quarter of 2009, Sony Ericsson sold 13.8 million mobile phones, which is 43% less than in the second quarter of 2008 and 5% lower compared with the previous quarter. Manufacturer's profit amounted to 1.68 billion euros, an increase of 40% less than during the same period in 2008. But the net loss amounted to 213 million euros, far less than in the first quarter of this year, with a net loss of 293 million. The market share of the company fell from 6% in the first quarter of this year to 5%. The average cost of a mobile phone company Sony Ericsson has declined from 122 euros last year to 116 euros.
Company Sony Ericsson is still optimistic and expects the programs to reduce costs, as well as placing on the market exciting products, will help her get out of difficult financial situations.
