Since the beginning of the year on the territory of Ukraine imported 4.162 million legal mobile terminals of different standards (GSM, CDMA). These are figures the head of the Ukrainian State Center of Radio Frequencies (UCRF) Paul Slobodyanyuk.
According Slobodyaniuk, a system of control over the legality of mobile first goal pursued not so much fight smuggling (it is the task of Customs), but rather protect the interests of Ukrainian citizens and providing them with high quality connection.
At the same time, he noted that in UCRF accessed by users, phones are not included in the generalized database IMEI. For example, a resident of Poltava is sent to the center itself illegal mobile, complaining that his code is not entered in the database. Center specialists legalized phone and even got to him sim-card. But such cases are rare in Ukraine, said Slobodyanyuk.
Recall that since February 16, 2010 in Ukraine will start to turn off mobile phones, IMEI codes are not included in the overall framework. This will disable the devices, rather than sim-card.
