The latest update on the Express Music collection consists of two interactive media handsets: 5310 and 5610. The last model enjoys a slider form factor thanks to which it looks pretty compact and handy thanks to the dedicated music keys on the front panel. The phone measures 99 x 48 x 17 mm at a weight of 111 grams. Part of the tradition, it is available in two colors: blue and red; whilest the black color of the body makes the phone especially appealing. Its performances and software applications are concentrated to deliver a proper sound quality and comfort for music lovers, a reason that resulted in a separate loud speaker on the back, where a stylish Nokia logo is placed.
Design
The front is represented mostly by the TFT display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and the capacity to visualize 16 million colors. As you can see on the upper part, above the display, near the earpiece – the ambient light sensor is situated. This means more to the comfort of your eyes and battery life time, as the sensor will adjust the brightness of the display accordingly to the amount of light in the room or time of the day. The main control unit is below the display. It is a formation of two soft keys, answering keys and in the center – the navigation key which serves for the music control also. The most important addition here is the sliding key. This is a convenient solution as it will pop up the music player, if the key is switched to the right, and the FM radio – to the left. Sliding between the media applications will eventually bring you back to the main menu. The idea is that you can get to the music software from any point of the main menu any time, and then return and continue whatever you were doing. The left side is free of any controls. On the opposite side we can find the volume rocker, and the dedicated camera button. The 3.2MP lens is situated on the rear side, and is equipped with a double Flash LED. The back plate features a special design that looks great and helps to fit better in the palm. The top of the phone is the part which holds the most connectivity ports. Here somebody may be surprised with only a standard 2.5mm audio jack instead to the popular 3.5mm, which is odd, giving the fact that the phone is part of collection dedicated to music fans. Near it the micro-USB slot is present; next to it a special button helps to open the back cover. The last utility in the line is the charging input. The reason why the opening button was placed here is to compensate the missing of the hot-swap option as the memory card bed is placed in the battery compartment.
Features
The menu in Nokia 5610 is based on the classic Symbian 40, which makes the phone easy to use thanks to a long history on the market and assures reliability. But there are applications including java-based software that were preinstalled in this Xpress Edition. From the most interesting, we found the presence of Yahoo Go! and the Opera internet browser. The data transfer can be performed via EDGE, GPRS and a stereo Bluetooth unit. Near the earpiece, a small video camera is placed for video-calling; this can mean only one thing, that HSCSD is on-board, and a guarantee for high-internet speed. The camera menu is displayed in the landscape mode. The photo and video mode can be activated even when the slide phone is closed, which is extremely comfortable. The maximum resolution that can be achieved in the camera mode is 1536х2048 pixels and 352x288 for the video option that can record clips in the 3GP format. The music player and the FM radio are designed to meet the exterior style and offer a list of themes to select from. Different possibilities to sort music and organize it are along with the support for the most popular music formats including AAC. Despite the standard headsets that come packed in the retail package, the music can be still improved by managing the 5-band equalizer. The synchronization with the PC is done via the USB cable, and an important fact is that the phone is equipped with USB 2.0 that delivers a good data transfer speed, similar to any regular USB mass storage device. But there is no battery charging in this mode though. Now you can check price for Nokia 5610.
