South Korean company Samsung Electronics officially announced the world's fastest processor, designed for use in mobile devices. The new chip is code-name and the Hummingbird is an example of the most efficient use of processor core ARM Cortex-A8.
Processor Hummingbird has been created by Samsung in conjunction with Intrinsity. Its clock frequency is 1 GHz, a specific performance at this frequency is 2000 DMIPS. The processor is built with a view of 45-nm technology standards, which provides low power consumption and heat levels. Hummingbird is equipped with 32 KB cache memory, cache memory, the second level, which can vary, as well as multimedia extension ARM NEON.
The company has already established a Samsung SoC (system on chip), using 45 nm core of Hummingbird, and believes that this decision will be very popular among manufacturers of mobile devices.
