Sony Ericsson has planned the start of its own Internet-service for mobile phones - PlayNow Arena on the nearest Monday, on August, 25th.
Initially, access to the portal will have the citizens of the Scandinavian countries, a little later, other countries of the Europe will join them also. Global access to service is planned for the next year.
PlayNow Arena promises to become a competitor for Apple iTunes Store for iPhone and Ovi from Nokia. At the start moment, the database will contain about 1 million musical tracks without DRM protection. The cost is expected to be similar with iTunes Store: 99 cents or eurocents for one track. Besides that, the users can download pictures, themes, games for their mobile phones. The cost of the last services is not known yet.
