The investor relationship at Samsung headquarters is supposed to get stronger in 2008. The 2007 4th quarter results were published today by the Company. The report is showing a constant demand in mobile handsets which reached a 41 percent growth comparable to the previous period, sales numbers revealed a volume of 46,3 million units. A big portion of the success is related to the European and the USA market, where shipment rose from 56% in the 3rd quarter to 62% in the 4th quarter – up with 6%. High-end phones sales are structured as following: The Ultra Collection hits 4.5 mill units, while 5MP cell-phones have a 1.1 mill share of the volume. Sales of mobile devices with a 3G enabled support are summing 7.3 mill from 5.5mill in the 3rd quarter. The company looks in the future of the 2008 year with optimism. It estimates that the mobile phone market has a potential of 1.23 billion cell-phones in 2008. In order to strengthen its market position, the manufacturer plans to double the number of 3G phones and will concentrate on 3MP+ camera phones and touch screen devices which have the most promising forecast.
