Samsung Electro-Mechanics has developed a power energy microelement on liquids and a hydrogen generator which work on water. The vice president of the research centre has declared that the device is good for mobile phones. When the phone works, metal and water are reacting and the hydrogen is produced and further sent to the battery. It reacts with the oxygen from the air and produces electrical energy.
The liquid batteries can provide up to 3W power – this is enough to have a mobile phone working. One charge can last for 10 hours talk time or 5 days in medium use. When the battery is drained, the user has to replace the hydrogen cartridge. After a while, there will be batteries that needs only water to be added, no cartridges.
The developers declared that the phones powered by such systems should be available on the market during the 2010 year.
