The Korean company LG has announced the successful development of a large 6 inch display, which is made not of the usual rectangular form, but elliptical. LG also has a round display of 1.4 inches size.
The 6-inch elliptic display has 78.8 millimeters in height and 131.4 millimeter in width. The 1.4 inch round display has a diameter of 35.5 millimeters.
Both displays are capable of displaying up to 262 thousand colors, and the viewing angle is 160 degrees.
The New form displays can significantly affect the design of the future portable devices. For the first time, the unusual displays can be seen in the 2008 Society for Information Display (SID) exhibition, which will be held from 18 to 23 May in Los Angeles.
